Personal Mission Statement.
You’re letting me into your mind a little bit. For that i’m grateful. I am encouraging you, everywhere, to write a normative personal mission statement. You want to write as if you’ve already achieved it. You want to read it–out loud–as often as you can stand it. And you do it because you are making it it true.
I wrote:
- I constantly improve myself. Every day, I work hard to be the strongest person that I know how to be.
- I maintain a high level of mental and physical health. I take care of my body and get enough nutrition and exercise on a daily basis to have great results.
- I serve God: I seek God’s will in decisions for my family. I seek first the kingdom of God as a context for all decisions that I make.
- I serve my family: I work to love my wife and to fulfill God’s role in my life.
- I work hard at my business. With deliberation and improvement, I ensure that I treat people honestly and fairly in my work.
- I help others who wish to improve themselves: In order to get what I want, i help others get what they want.
- I am kind to others: I practice the Golden Rule, and treat people as well as I know how.
- I have a joyful and positive attitude and I live life with passion and excitement. What is the point of life–really–if you can’t enjoy it?
